robotic hoovers and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
This is your chance to own a robot vacuum. CNET's top-rated models will be available during Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can instruct the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.
The design is also better than the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that appears like a toy rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal It also self-empties which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it around the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand which other robots can't. It did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.
The j7+, while not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both a vacuum and a mop. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine whether the update actually working until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably a hybrid. These robots come with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also have a number of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be expensive at retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't come with some of the premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few misses in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or change the labels of rooms.
If you select the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed it can be accomplished easily. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, however it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and functionality are some of the best on the market however it's expensive.
The base station is attractive and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot clean and charged.
And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at picking up debris on plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the price price.
However, if you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robotic there are many alternatives available which include a variety of eufy models for significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets with low pile, and even high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company with a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect the charging dock. The app takes you through the steps needed to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an electrical outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move but.
The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it will be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious compared to some rival models. It is sleek with a black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The most important characteristic that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It can remember what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it left off.
The eufy G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials like cereal.
